A business mentor and angel investor, as well as a speaker, Mark Lyttleton provides promising entrepreneurs with the benefit of his wealth of experience and insights into founding and growing both private and public companies.
He provides fledgling business leaders with the mentorship and funding they need to get their business ideas off the ground, as well as providing advice and mentorship for existing small businesses. Mr Lyttleton has invested in numerous early stage enterprises that were created with the goal of achieving a positive planetary impact, including Skoot, Clim8, Maanch, OHM Energie and C-Cell.
Mark Lyttleton studied Chemistry at the University of York, earning a bachelor’s degree with honours. He commenced his career with Mercury Asset Management, the company that subsequently became Merrill Lynch Investment Managers, which today forms part of the Blackrock Group. Mr Lyttleton was tasked with running equity funds for institutional pension funds prior to his transfer to the retail fund division in 1999. In this role, he ran the company’s UK equity funds, which achieved a solid financial performance in the 2000s. Mr Lyttleton also launched the trailblazing UK Absolute Alpha Fund, growing it to over $4 billion of assets.
Outside the world of work Mark Lyttleton has an interest in travel, visiting Japan, Singapore, India, Greece, Denmark and Costa Rica in recent years. He is also a keen sportsman, with a particular fondness for tennis, golf and football. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with friends, being in nature, and walking his dog.
